Certified Flight Instructor Instrument
The CFI Instrument certificate is generally the first certificate you obtain after the initial CFI. This certificate will allow training prospective instrument pilots and endorsing them for both the required knowledge and practical tests. You can also conductor Instrument proficiency checks. Your duties as a CFII will allow you with a great opportunity to tune your own instrument skills while sharing your experience as an instrument pilot with your students. As with the cfi certificate, you will also have an opportunity to build more time and be able to fly on days that weather may be less than VFR. The cost of this program averages about $2999 and includes 7 hours of flying. Actual cost depends on your proficiency and knowledge. You should be instrument proficient.
Need to Know

No hour requirement, however you must train to proficiency
Obtain an endorsement from an authorized instructor.
There is no required ground training, although you must be proficient in teaching the different aspects associated with flying by reference to instruments.

Must have a CFI or a Commercial Certificate with Instrument Rating
Be 18 years old
Be able to speak, read, write and understand the English Language.
Pass the required knowledge test with a minimum score of 70%
Pass the required practical test with an FAA Designated Examiner
